Taiwan’s Chunghwa Post is reportedly aiming to increase the number of “ipost-box” locker terminals to more than 1,000 nationwide by the end of next year.
The service was launched in July 2016 in response to the growth of online shopping.
Customers can use the terminals to send mail or packages, and pay the postage with their Easy Cards or other electronic cards.
Pos Malaysia promoting EziBox service
Pos Malaysia has been promoting its new Pos Laju EziBox service, which enables customers to pick up their parcels free of charge at 24/7 parcel lockers.
The service is primarily designed as an alternative means of getting parcels to customers who missed a home delivery.
Customers receive an SMS notifying them to collect their parcel at a PosLaju EziBox within 48 hours, along with a secure one-time PIN number that they use to open the lockers.
Pos Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh was quoted by The Star as saying: “The introduction of PosLaju EziBox is one of the initiatives to better serve our customers’ e-commerce needs where they can now get faster, flexible and free accessibility that is closer to their homes or offices.”
PosLaju EziBox lockers are now operational at Pos Malaysia’s e-Commerce Hub at Level 1, Dayabumi Complex in Kuala Lumpur; Gombak LRT station; Johor Baru General Post Office; Chukai Post Office; Gombak Post Office; Sungai Besi Post Office; Bangi PosLaju Outlet; Taman Connaught Shell petrol station; Damansara Jaya Shell petrol station and Kelana Jaya Post Office.
“We will study customers’ response to the PosLaju EziBox service and finetune the processes so that our customers get maximum benefit from this new way of receiving their parcels,” the Pos Malaysia CEO was quoted as saying. “If customers respond well to the service, we plan to have 60 PosLaju EziBox nationwide this year.”

Hermes has launched its “WunschExpress” service for fast, overnight deliveries in Germany.
In a statement sent to Post&Parcel today (6 September) said that around 90% of its parcels are already delivered on a next-day basis – but the new WunschExpress service will make next day delivery possible even for orders placed in the evening.

In a statement posted on 31 August, OTTO said that the next-day delivery offer would apply for orders made up to 8 pm.
